hey guys

just wondering why menetrier's dz would cause a protein-losing gastroenteropathy...what exactly does an increase in mucin do to protein in the stomach? Does it screw up pepsin by changing stomach pH?....hmmm i am sure there's a simple reason just can't seem to think straight...

Mucous cells overpopulate the sotmach, crowding out the other cells. (high pH) It produces to much mucous, which isn't reabsorbed and is ****ted out (protien losing)
