so i was wondering what would happen if someone messed up an entire semester/year with thier grades, but then managaed to pull off A's for the next two years... and did quite well on thier mcats - would medicial schools over look that, would they possibly put the person in a post bac program?

If the final cumulative GPA is good, one semester of poor performance would be tolerated. Have a good explanation though, as the situation may be brought up in interviews. If the final GPA approaches, but is somewhat below the mean of accepted students, a great MCAT score may ease the way to continued consideration.

See old thread about the LizzyM score: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=400458&highlight=LizzyM+score

From this you can extropalate what your MCAT would need to be in order to bail out a poor GPA.
