Hi All,
I'm got an email from Univ. of Michigan this morning and was wondering if anyone else had gotten it/what people's thoughts were. I am a NY resident, and I submitted my AMCAS on 7/31 (still not verified), not planning on appying to Michigan. However, I got this email, and now I'm wondering if I should add them or if this is just a scam to get more applicants and/or money?
Here's what the email said...
"Congratulations on your MCAT performance! With the MCAT behind you, the next step in your journey is deciding where to apply to medical school.
Consider the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. We have only one requirement of our students: excellence. Your MCAT score is only part of the picture. We carefully evaluate each applicant to assess the best fit for both parties. We invite you to take a closer look at what we have to offer:
Ranked among the top 5 schools by Residency Program Directors across the country (U.S. News and World Report, Best Graduate Schools 2007)this means a lot coming from the people who will eventually hire you. Ahead-of-the-curve technologywe set the standard for integrated learning. Transparent admissions processwe let you know early and often about where you stand. Every admitted student is eligible for a recruitment scholarship in fact, we award more grants than any other public medical school. 98 percent student satisfaction on their residency matchfaculty advisors work with you throughout your years of study to get you on the right path. More than 50 percent of our student body is made up of out-of-state residentsAnn Arbor offers the best of cosmopolitan life within safe walking distance.
Our students were once in the position you are now. They went one step further. We hope you choose to do the same. "
BTW..I got a 30Q on my MCAT, which is good, but not the best score ever, which makes me feel a little more like this was just a mass attempt for more applicants.
Opinions? Thanks!
