Anyone heard anything from MSU-CHM regarding the waitlist? Any scoops about what to expect? I wanted to get this thread started early to help endure the suffering we the waitlisted face.

My understanding is that very few spots open at Mich State, but that they do contact accepted waitlisters rather quickly. This is totally anecdotal but who knows. Also, I think their ABLE program makes decisions soon after may 15 as well, but only 8 people get in.

mich state usually has few spots like stated, but a couple usually open up in may/early june.

Come on people, doesn't anybody know has the system is working? Has Dr Shafer already contacted people? Does the committee meet only on tuesdays as per the interview process? Somebody has to have some insider info.

the admissions office said they haven't started looking at the alt list yet but will begin to review alternates next week. the only negative i got out of it was that there are alot of alternates and probably only a few spots.

Dr. Shafer e-mailed me yesterday (6/7) to say I was accepted off the alternate list. I had submitted a LOI to her in April after my March interview and had not heard much. It was a total surprise to hear from her. I have no idea how far down the alternate list they went but I was ecstatic to hear from her and be accepted to CHM.

9 people were accepted off the alternate list on Tues 6/8, out of 60 total people on the list. I have a close friend on the list and she called and spoke to Sheri (I think). It sounded like they mailed the acceptances. But they are pretty good about updating everything online so I'd suggest checking there if you haven't already. If you aren't one of the lucky ones to get some mail, I'd start being realistic about getting in this time around.
