For those of you attending Midyear and interviewing for fellowships this year, what dates are you planning on arriving and departing?

Are you looking for an academic based fellowship or industry?

Industry fellowships. I'm thinking of arriving Friday. What I'm more iffy on is when to depart.

I would plan on being there at least through Wednesday morning. In my experience most places finished interviewing on Tuesday and used Wednesday for a few last minute interviews and packing up. However, it looks like PPS runs longer this year (full day on the last day instead of half) so that could change things.

You will also want to be around for Monday and Tuesday evenings since some companies/programs do evening meet 'n greet events that you'll want (and should) to be able to attend if invited.

I think I'm going to go with leaving Wednesday afternoon. Thanks for your input!

You'll need to find out when you have to register on-site for the Rutgers interview process if you're considering their programs. For non-Rutgers programs arriving Saturday should be ok since you should have your interviews setup ahead of time.

I am going only for Rutgers programs, so does that mean Rutgers programs can start interview registration even before Saturday?

I do not believe so, but you should check their information to be sure.

If you are going for Rutgers, then you should definitely fly in on Friday. The Rutgers sign up starts very early Saturday morning. Their interviews start Saturday afternoon depending on how early you were able to sign up!
    Good luck and have fun!

I am sorry I am confused, doesn't midyear start on 7th December Sunday? So how can interviews start on Saturday 6th?

Yeah it looks a little confusing with PPS having Sunday the 7th as the start date for interviews. The Rutgers program starts on the Saturday and not Sunday. You can confirm with the program, but I am pretty sure about that!

oh that's too bad I booked tickets from 6th-11th. and I reach at 12 in noon in Anaheim. I will ask someone at Rutgers just to confirm, unless someone here has better idea on timeline.

To clarify: Midyear does officially begin on Sunday, Dec 7. However, sign-ups for Rutgers fellowship interviews begin on Saturday, Dec 6 at 12pm. Sign-ups are first come first served, so it's encouraged to arrive in enough time to get in line before 12 pm. This is why some people choose to fly in that Friday.
