This piece of mile sur mera tumhara (American version) has been
created by MIT students ...enjoy
http://www.mit.edu/~kapoor/mile_sur_small.wmv

If anyone of you guys in this forum were back in India during the late eighties & early nineties, the original version was a fanstastic campaign by various artists from all parts of the country and from all walks of life on national unity.

I am not sure though, whether Rehman worked on the original versions. This was def a Bharat Bala productions but before Rehman, I guess.
