Military Medics!!!

Does anyone have suggestions for military medics applying to D.O. schools?

I was planning to take the MCAT this August. Additionally, I started the application process.

But, the military has requested my presence overseas
(near Iraq).

Anyway, my medical school plans will obviously be on hold for several months.

Any military medics out there?

Hi doc! I, too, am an Air Force medic. Actually, I was just discharged in order to use the HPSP for med school. Getting out of active duty was quite the bureaucratic mess. Have you already taken the MCAT? If so, I would suggest applying now. I applied last fall. I was waitlisted at USUHS and decided to withdraw because I was about to be deployed for the war. I opted instead to matriculate at AZCOM. My extended family is there, and the school is really nice.

Anyway, if I can help you in any way just let me know. It's always good to see a fellow airman, soldier, or corpsman getting an education. Good luck in your quest! Hopefully, you will be passed over for deployment now so you can concentrate on your MCAT studies.
