Military paying for med school?

Does anyone know about the programs most the armed forces support where they pay for med school, books, and what not, but expect you to serve for as many years as they paid for? I have heard some good and some bad, but mostly partial information from everyone. I don't know if I'd like to spend all of my med school summers with the military, but I surely wouldn't mind zero debt after graduating either...

There is also the HPSP program, Health Professions Scholarships Program, through which you can attend the school of your choice and have a year for year service commitment. I am HPSP, Army.

yeah jmwalker, I think that is the one. I know the navy and air force have a similar schtick; the problem is, they don't want to talk to me until I get accepted into med school...

if your stats are above a 3.5 and 30, the army will auto accept you, that is what i did --- i was commisioned before i had an acceptance. go to goarmy.com for more info.
