Hello everyone,

I am a senior this year looking at post grad career options and I took an interest in podiatry school. What kind of GPA science and overall and MCAT combination would someone need to be considered "In the running" for pod schools? 3.0? 2.5? 3.3? For MCAT would it be 25 or 27?

Thank you

The issue with that spreadsheet is that if you think to yourself that someone did get in with that GPA or that MCAT score then I can since there is a good chance that someone who got accepted with that low of a GPA then they probably got an MCAT score very close to the highest score on that spreadsheet.

Is it difficult to get into a pod school? Or is it a lot like law school, where there are really good ones that are competitive to get into and then there are ones that automatically accept students with above a 3.0 and can write an up front tuition check?

It is not as competitive as MD, DO, or PA school more because it is a hidden gem and not many people are interested in podiatry. Here is a link that could help a bit as well: http://www.aacpm.org/html/careerzone/pdfs/AACPM CIB-2013 Entering Class.pdf

This was the 2011 class averages. It may be a little better than the MAX vs. MIN chart, but it still isn't 100% conclusive since you also can't sound arrogant in an interview because you could even get rejected with that and the personal letter if you don't show that you love that profession.

Okay well that spreadsheet didn't come out as well as it looked when I posted it, so here is a picture of that to make it look better

It seems like there are two or three really strong stat schools and then 2 schools that will accept very low stats. Seems like a good alternative for pre meds who have lower stats.
