Hi I had a quick question. I was wondering if misdemeaners such as DUIs have to be reported when applying for PT school. If so, is it an automatic rejection? any info would be appreciated .

I don't think so. I don't remember that being a spot on the PTCAS application, but then again it doesn't apply to me so I wouldn't have noticed it. I doubt it'd be an automatic rejection.

It may not affect your chances on getting into PT school however it may affect your chances on getting a license to practice.

Contact your state board. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you keep your nose clean. You just have to report it when you apply in most states.

I hired a PT who got in to his perferred school despite the minor consumption violatoin. He had to explain it when he applied for his license. But it wasn't a problem. This is in Minnesota, each state will probably handle it differently.
