As your neighborhood Virgil (bonus points if you follow the analogy), I was examining the different depths of the "MCAT", when I noticed that the answer key for the Biological Science section has a mistake.

Question #175 and Question #176 are flipped. The right order should be

#175 C
#176 A

rather than

#175 A
#176 C

Hmmm, makes you wonder if these people double check the "real" MCAT answer key. Hey even if they didn't than 1 or 2 questions with a false correct should not separate you from one scaled score to another. Theoretically, that is.

Good Luck

P.S. If you have the solution book for AAMC VI, you will notice that the correct sequence is in this book.

The online version of the test had the answers in the right order.

The question on Anterior Pit. Gland

Why Epinephrine ? Is it also not regulated by the above mentioned gland.

im pretty sure the ant. pit. gland regulates the cortex of the adrenal gland...not the medulla (where the epi is found)

I believe that Epi release is controlled directly by the nervous system.

Out of interest-so which system controls the Ad. medulla ? Strictly the nervous system eh ?

Sorry if these questions sound stupid-a non-biology student

Hello,

secretion of epinephrine and norepinephrine are influenced by the sympathetic nervous system, they are not influenced by the anterior pituitary
