Anyone know of a good book with ton of MCAT style genetics/molecular bio questions?
I've done all the Kaplan Subject/Topical tests, and have done some EK.. but I need more practice... it is a weakness of mine 🙁
specifically
-pedigree analysis (autosomal/sex-linked dominant/recessive)
-lac operon
-probability questions
-recombinant frequencies between linked/unlinked genes
and all the other fun stuff i can't think of right now..
any advice? tried the search function... but no luck for mcat related.

I liked the EK books for this, but if you've exhausted those, you might want to try the BR books. They have tons of passages and questions, but some of their questions are really over the top. But I loved the way they explained the lac operon and recombinant stuff.

This is my weak point as well. The inferred questions I generally get right, but when it is a straight up probablity, or how many hemophiliac sons will this mother have crap, I'm suckin'. Try this website on for size, I found it helpful and a nice change of pace:

For molecular

For genetics/probability/populations

Just click on "problem sets".

Those website questions are great! I wish I would have seen them when I was studying.

Awesome indeed! thank you much🙂 great resource.

and thanks for the advice Malayna! will check out BR books as well.

If you have the cash, get TBR bio books. they have tons of passages over this very material. I know I said they suck, but the passages are great. They are cash money.

The biggest thing that has helped me is doing every single problem in the EK Bio 1001 for chapters 1, 2, and 9. Really learned a lot doing that.
