Can someone please explain to me how they arrived to 5 and 4 (orange arrows) from (1.25 and 1).

Thank you in advance.

They worked with 7.81 and 6.25.

1) He looked and saw that 6.25 was the lowest value.
2) He took the lowest value(6.25) to divide by.
C 7.81/6.26 =1.25 (Aprox)
H 6.26/6.26 = 1

I think the question was about how to get to 5 and 4 from 1.25 and 1. I am not sure though

the easiest way to solve this problem is to multiple .93 x 128 = you get 119 which is almost 120; then you divide 120 by 12 = 10 Carbons.

Thats all! dont even worry about anything else. this is simply a math problem.

Right, that's what I meant. Thanks.

Whoops. My mistake. They multiplied both those values by 4 in order to get rid of the decimal.

Aaaaah, I see. Thank you very much for your wonderful explanation. I got it now.

You, dear sir, are a savior and a knight among us mortals. I thank thee.
