For those of you who received more than one acceptance, is anyone sending in more than one deposit? What are the consequences of sending in more than one deposit on other schools accpeting you?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Although I'm not sending in more that one deposit, as far as I know the only consequence of sending in more that one deposit is that you'll probably forfeit all the money that doesn't go to the school you ultimately choose.

I currently have two schools under deposit and I'd love to be able to make my final decision ASAP. The biggest deciding factor will be where I can get the best health insurance. I think the other school will be understanding of that. I don't believe there are any consequences of having several seats held for you except maybe forfeiting some of the $$$.

I agree...I'm also holding down two spots right now, although thankfully one of them is refundable within 6 wks. So long as you don't continue to hold both spots for months (and screw over people waiting to get in!) I don't think it's a big deal...I'll know within the next few wks. which one I'll be attending for sure (still waiting on a school) and will then withdraw the other asap...

MsPurtell what do you mean by the best health insurance? does schools have diferent health insurance or are you buying it on your own?

just wondering where are you guys holding multiple acceptances?

I put a deposit in at NYU, and was considering putting a second in at Pitt as a financial "safety" school, since it is much more affordable than NYU. But, my number one choice is USC and I am still waiting to hear from them. But, I've decided against the Pitt deposit because I really do not want to go there and fear that it might affect USC's decision on my application.

regina,
have u had an interview at SC? was there a essay for NYU's Interview? good luck and congrats on all your acceptances!

StarGirl,

I had my USC interview on Dec 4 & 5. NYU does not have an essay for the interview. It was very relaxed. You just have to fill out a secondary, which is exaclty what is on the general app, but they just want any updated info. Other than that, there is the personal interview, tour, and lunch with students.

Good luck and any other questions, just let me know!

StarGirl,

Schools each have their own plans, some better than others. I have a very serious pre-existing condition that could crop up again, so I'll probably buy insurance on my own, choosing the best plan available to me. One school is in NY, the other in CT, and both states have very different laws regarding this issue.
