I've yet to take Step 1 but I would HIGHLY recommend Pathophysiology for Boards and Wards by Ayala. Great book!

NOT pathophys for boards and wards --- JUST Boards and Wards...two different books.

Boards & Wards is a book for Step 2. Good luck if that's what you choose.

Yeah, that's why I was confused. I thought the OP is taking a poll for Step 1 and yet he/she is asking about a review book for Step 2. 😕

Because i heard boards and Wards was also useful for a material on Step I. i know of a few people who used it and said it was helpful for step 1....just wanted to get some more opinions...dont have time for both so watned to see if I should go w/ B and W or MC in medicine.

I voted for neither. If any, I'd read Pathophysiology for the Boards and Wards. Goljan would recommend Most Commons in Pathology (for Step 1).

I voted for neither. Goljan doesn't recommend either of these books for Step I. The books he has recommended are listed in the "USMLE Step I Book List" thread.

Are you one of Goljan's twelve?
