Morehouse waitlist moving?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i think it has moved a little ... but the reason why you're not getting responses is because the people who are getting pulled off are not on SDN.

also, did u remember what the percentage of people on the waitlist get off? i thought Mr. Nesmith had mentioned that during the interviews.

I thought he had mentioned it too and I did not remember. However, a couple of weeks ago, I e-mailed him and asked that very question and his reply was "that question cannot be answered"

Hey medboy!
Since you're one of the few SDNers interested in Morehouse, any news yet. What's up with CocaCola?

Hi guys! I am currently a rising second year at MSM. Definitely don't give up hope because I got off of the waitlist the 1st week of June. Another one of my classmates got in 1 week before orientation started, and someone else got in a few days before. I am sure that there are many more stories like that in my class, but these are the ones I remember. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I call up to the office tomorrow, and I'll see what I can find out. 😉 I remember what being on the waitlist felt like.

thanks fluffy ... the wait is killing us ! also, its hard to know whether or not the WL has even moved!

Bump bump bump bump bump it up!!

Hi again. I went to school and talked to the admissions people today. They said that the waitlist is moving, and will continue to move right up until the weekend before orientation. Also, she (Jasmine the secretary) said that the best thing to do is call and express your interest in MSM often. Good luck everyone!

hey y'all ...

i called up morehouse today and found out that the waitlist has just really begun to move ... so not to fret yet. Also, the decision comes via mail and not necessarily with a phone call ... the lady told me (and y'all) to not worry as it's early.

hmm ...

bump . bump. goose.

Ok... so you know how they say to call up the admissions office to let them know you are still interested? What do you say whent you make these kinds of phone calls? First of all, its not like the director of admissions or the dean will answer the phone themselves when you call. The people who do answer the phones act like you are asking to speak to the president when you ask for someone important. So what is a poor girl supposed to do? I mean I wanna call but don't know how to get someone tangible to speak with. 🙁 🙁 HELP.

that, my friend, is the million dollar question! ok, so, I don't have an answer for you but I am in the same predicament. What I usually do is just state my name and then state my question. Hopefully, they will just write my name down so that they can mark it on my file or something.

When you call, they write down that you called, what they talked about with you, and anyother important information.

If you are calling just to state interest, then its okay to talk to the secretary. If you want to ask detailed questions I recommend asking for Mr. Nesmith or call him directly.

Keep in Mind they would much rather prefer an email or a letter that they may have everything in writing.

I wanted to let you guys know that I am giving my spot up at Morehouse and that I wish you all the best. Hope one, if not all, of you guys get into school. It is a great school and if I hadn't gotten my first choice I would definitely be going here. I picked it over a lot of places.

Good Luck. I wish you all the best!

Peace

Thanks for the heads up! when did you or will you notify the school?

Anything yet med boy? Have you been accepted to any other schools?
I think it was you that said Cocacola was waitlisted too. Is she still waitlisted?

no word yet. i'm getting a bit worried but i hope things fall through for us...

anyone else have any input?

I sent an e-mail to Mr. Nesmith and explained that I was still interested... yada yada yada. He replied me saying "we are keeping you in mind." Should I be happy that they are at least keeping me in mind or is this what he probably says to everyone. I can't help but be a little happy. Who knows?

Your must have been better because all I got back was :

Noted.

That's it! Sorry, but I can't help but be a little nervous!

I'm with Xanthines....

All I get is "noted" ...

Have y'all even heard of anyone getting off the WL? Or, for that matter, are we pretty much toast and not getting in?! 🙁

But I have been in for a couple of months. I am on 3 other waitlists. As soon as I hear back from those schools I might have to make a big decision about Morehouse. Which could be good for one of you waitlisters.
School at Morehouse starts really soon, like 3 weeks. With a class that small though, I couldn't see much waitlist movement especially this close to the start date. either way. g'luck y'all.
.p

Congrats ndspider! 🙂

Everyone else, hang tight and best of luck!

bump . ...

someone please have some good news!

No news here. Still waiting and waiting and waiting... and waiting

don't worry tke....

maybe we should just show up the first day of classes and see if they notice that we were not accepted.

I'm with you on that. If you'll do it, I'll do it. lol  Anyways... I wish I new how much movement there will be on the waitlist b/w now and July 6. Is there a way to find out? Maybe from last year?

any last minute miracles? anyone?

I know that wasn't easy decision! MSM is an awesome school!! I have been on the waitlist since Jan and have expressed interest and been in contact with admissions regularly since then. Did you have to hear any info on number of waitlist spot or amount of movement? Any suggestions on what I can do to get in?

Thanks!!

Is anyone still holding on to their seat at MSM who may give it up before classes start in July 2006? I'm on the waitlist and have been told that there may be movement until the first day of classes.
