most popular month for taking Step 1?

Hi, I'm an IMG who's taking Step 1 on July-September 2012 - I still have to choose the exact day but I'm wondering which month in this trimester is less crowded. I'm planning on taking the test in the Prometric center in DC, since I have several friends who live there and I won't need to pay for my lodging

My experience has been that May-September is busy in general. It might not even matter for you. Register and see what is available and let that determine in which month you take the test.
