Most relaxed surg. subspecialty??

Hi guys,

One of my friends recently asked me what the best lifestyle field among surgical fields are. I thought someone out here would give better insight about which field has the more relaxed residency and lifestlye afterwards??

I would figure the answer would be ENT or maybe plastics??

I've heard ophthamology or urology (why else would anyone go into urology if not for the lifestyle :wink: )

Plastics is definately not a cush fellowship at most programs & your avg. work hours/week will be among the highest of surgical specialties when you finish. Of your other gen surg subspecialties I would say probably breast oncology & endocrine specialists have the most elective schedules I've seen.
