Movement on Uconn waitlist?

does anyone know if Uconn has any significant movement on their waitlist? or should i just give up....

hey, were you placed on the actual waitlist or on the hold/alternate list. last year i was on the bottom third of the waitlist and did not get in, i assume they told you which third you are in like they did to me last year. i have no real info for you though, good luck

oh, and give what up? i think if you're in the top third you should be very optimistic......you can always set up a meeting with the Dean

This is what they wrote "The Admissions Committee recently met to review your application. The Committee voted to place you as an alternate and to reconsider your application again later in the review process after more candidates have been interviewed and considered. "

I thought that was a waitlist, I didnt know there was a separate hold/alternate. This email was sent to me after the interview. Do they tell you where you are on the waitlist if you ask?

I thought that was a waitlist, I didnt know there was a separate hold/alternate. This email was sent to me after the interview. Do they tell you where you are on the waitlist if you ask?

that's what i got. last year it was a real waitlist that was split into thirds, and the letter said which third i was in. also, last year was a snail mail letter. this year was email (the same that you got). i think they have a waitlist in addition to the alternate list HOWEVER, no one has answered this for me yet....i've asked it and no one has said anything....so i'm just guessing there is a waitlist as well OR they may be pulling a penn state and switched from waitlist method to alternate list method

either way, i feel this alternate list has a good shot.....especially if there is also a waitlist, which may be why i'm guessing there is one 😛 i hope someone answers if there is a waitlist or not this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not sure about your specific school but many schools have hold lists. none of the ones i have heard of are the same as a wait list though. a hold list still means you could get in off of it...or even rejected...or waitlisted come april. it simply means they are still considering you and want to see how the rest of their interviews go. good luck.
