MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

An update to everyone waiting on Columbia financial aid! There was an update to my financial aid portal: it doesn't have my aid yet but it does now list the yearly fees required of all students. So slight progress hahaha. But I assume this means they're finally starting to go through aid packages or something; until today my portal was completely blank.
Hi! Congrats on your acceptance! 🙂 I was just wondering, how were you able to get into your financial aid portal? I thought they said you cant get into the portal until you've been awarded a letter... I'm waiting anxiously for my letter haha

My portal changed to admit as well and when I tried to register on admitted students day it said access denied... welp
Okay wait sorry... it said access denied for the link for admitted students day (through the decision letter) but I was able to register for admitted students week and got a confirmation email. So idk

I was able to register for Admitted Students Day and received a confirmation email. Also some people said that they haven't heard back right? I feel like if it was an error, everyone would have heard back today. Just my thoughts though lolol

confused i sent a fafsa

This is what it says on the GW site. I think the fafsa is required for all aid the css is just for need based grants

I was accepted to Emory on 1/20 (portal update, no email or letter until the next day) hoping it’s the same for Columbia lmao

The really bizarre thing is some people who have the admitted students page are part of programs that require interviews and their interviews are scheduled but they haven't had them yet. That's what makes me think it might be an error.

I finally heard back from another school!!! Kind of. I applied to the Department of Community Health Science at UCLA, but I just got an e-mail saying I might be a better candidate for the MPH for Health Professionals weekend program... Does anyone know if this could be a good or bad thing? And is a "weekend program" worth as much as a full-time program?

I don't know if I'm going to be rejected from the Department of Community Health Science, so I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Any advice would be appreciated! And congrats to everyone receiving admissions so far! 😀
Nice!!! When did you apply?? 😀

On that note, does someone wanna make a groupme or facebook group for columbia? Would love to meet (real) people and potentially find roommates if we're all in!! (or know if there is an admitted students facebook page)
I think Columbia will actually make one themselves after they are done with admissions. They invited me to one last year after I was admitted (I deferred).

On Columbia's admitted portal, how did everyone register for the Admitted Students Day? I found my acceptance letter under the "Connect with your department" link, but when I click on the "Admitted Students Day" link within the letter, it takes me back to my admitted portal...Is this happening to anyone else? Also, I applied for biostats...wondering if anyone else applied to the same department!

I don't even know how I could fall asleep ahhaha.
I'm in the same boat 🙁 I unfortunately have an inclination that it's a glitch in the system.
There is nowhere to complete a decision reply form, and I applied to HPM and haven't even been contacted for an interview.

Me too, so sorry 🙁

Another thing to note. If the system was glitched then how could we register for admitted students day?
That's what I've been thinking. Regardless of whether it's business hours or not, if it's a glitch it's a HUGE mistake on their part. Something that they should correct immediately. When I was accepted to Emory I didn't receive an email at first. Just checked my portal and saw and then got an email the next day. I'm seriously hoping that's the case but who knows 😅

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all your acceptances! I am a full-time JHU MPH student concentrating in Child and Adolescent Health and pursuing a certificate in Health Disparities and Health Inequalities. I've received quite a bit of PMs regarding writing a letter to appeal to the Office of Financial Aid for a merit scholarship since I was able to do so successfully ($25k). COVID-19 has put many people in rough financial situations and I thought I could offer my assistance to help you obtain some assistance from your top institution. Feel free to PM me questions about Hopkins or scholarship reevaluations. Take care!
