Hello-
Many MSTP programs state that if you are rejected from their MSTP program, you will automatically be considered for the standard MD program. I was just wondering if this actually happens - i.e. has anyone actually been accepted to the MD program after being rejected from the MSTP program at a particular university?

Yes. I was accepted at both UMich and Pitt last year for the MD program and rejected for their MD/PhD programs. I was also accepted MD-only in the separated MD and MD/PhD process at Baylor. I'd say that at most programs there is a good chance for this to happen, but at several this never or very rarely happens.
