Hey Everyone,
I just interviewed at MSUCOM (my top choice school 🙂 ) on 3/10, at which time the director of admissions had told us that the class was technically full and all applicants still interviewing were doing so for waitlist spots. I just found out that I am considered a "priority admit", which basically means somewhere at the top of the waitlist. However, the list will continue to change as it is ranked and the school continues to interview in these last few weeks. So I was wondering if any of you MSUCOM'ers had ever been in this position or if anyone could offer any insight as to what my chances are of getting in. Does the school usually have a lot of waitlist action? Any information would be helpful! I guess this means more sleepless nights in the meantime...

Thanks so much! 😍

HEY HANG IN THERE!! I HAVE A FEW FRIENDS WHO ARE IN THE SAME BOAT! DID U FIND OUT STATS? HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS YOU LAST YEAR AND GOT IN?

LET ME KNOW. HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE CLASSMATES. I GOT IN!

Hey Zash,
Congrats on MSUCOM! I did try getting some stats - I was told that the least amount of people accepted off the waitlist in the last few years has been 25, where the most has been over 50. I was also told that last year everyone off the waitlist got in but that may not be from an accurate source...
Unfortunately, they can't tell me what my exact rank is on the waitlist, i suppose since it constantly changes... When did your friends that got waitlisted interview there?

I hope to see you in August !!

HEY MY FRIEND INTERVIEWED ON THE 14TH OF MARCH.

IS THIS A WAITING LIST OR SOMETHING OTHER THAN A WAITING LIST? IM CONFUSED BOUT THIS STATUS OF YOURS.

From what I understand, being a "priority admit" still means that I am on the waitlist but that im somewhere at the top of it... While that is a reassuring thing to know, I guess I would just sleep much easier if I knew that a good chunk of people off the waitlist usually get it...I hate playing the waiting game, but hey what can ya do...

Hi EMT,

I am currently a first-year at MSUCOM and I think that it'd be best to check with the admissions office if you have any direct questions regarding your status. The reason I'd direct you there is because it is very difficult to know exactly how many people get in off of the waitlist. Once you get into school, most people don't discuss when they interviewed, if they were on the waitlist, etc. Everyone is just happy to be there!
I know of a couple of people in my class right now who were accepted off of the waitlist last year, but I cannot confirm if everyone that was on it did eventually get in. Also, since your class size has increased (from 125 to 150), things may be working differently this year.
So, my best advice would be to check in at the office every once in awhile. There is still a lot of time, so don't fret. I wish you the best and hope to see you at orientation in August. If you have any questions in the meantime, don't be afraid to ask.

Take care,
Julia
