I have 199 on step 1 and I'm in the lower third of my class. Can I still match in anesthesiology?
You definitely can match to a quality anesthesia position, especially if you are a US grad. One suggestion is to do "away rotations" at programs that you are interested in during the early part of your 4th year. That way programs can get to know you and tend to think less about you numbers. Good luck!
Absolutely. With >1,100 spots/year, your odds are very good. Just be sure to kick butt during your rotation...
