I went to my first dental convention today for the state of Arizona with my professor and the dentists that I shadow with. It was super cool, I got TONS of free dental related stuff! I even got sample dyes for root canal and bacterial indicators! TONS of floss, tooth paste, tooth brush, NEW technological anti-microbial mouth washes and pastes! Met the new Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health Dean, Dr. Dellinberg. Talked to a ton of dentists and dental specialists. I even went to a 4 hour seminar on esthetic dentistry for 3 credit hours of continuing education for current practicing dentists on "An interdisciplinary Approach to Treatment Planning and Esthetic Dentistry"! I saw digital x-ray computer systems! For bit-wings and periapical digital x-ray systems, for $7000-10,000 you can have your private office set up real nice. For the pan, the digital system is $60,000!! WOW!! The resolution is amazing on these x-ray and you can actually see teeth in 3 dimensions verse only 2D on conventional x-rays! So much I learned and soaked in during this conference! I was there from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. A lot of dentists and I were talking about my dental education starting next year, they were all pumped and excited for me! A lot of attractive hygienist and assistants were there and lets just say that I was excited to be a dentist! Enough about this. I'm exhausted and plus I have to go through all my free stuff and sort it out!

Great! I, too, have been to a dental convention (southwest, in Dallas in January of this year). I really enjoyed myself also. I got to attend a seminar on antibiotics, appropriate uses, types of infections, etc.; I learned an immense amount at that one seminar. Won't be long before we are doing this as DDSs!! <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" />
