My GPA falls outside the standard deviation according to AAMC table. Do I still have a chance?

I was looking at AAMC Table A-18 (GPA for matriculants by race/ethnicity) and am quite confused.

According to the AAMC, the mean GPA science for Asian matriculants is 3.69 with 0.27 Standard deviation and the mean GPA non-science is 3.82 with 0.19 SD.

I am an Asian with 3.5 overall GPA and 3.55 BCPM and it looks like my non-science gpa falls outside the SD. 3.82-0.19 = 3.63??

Do I still have a chance?
If anyone could help me out figuring this SD, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

Yes you still have a chance. 68% of the data falls within 1 SD. That means 32% lie outside of 1 SD. 16% on the lower side and 16% on the upper side of the curve.

Of course you still have a chance.

You can't go by the table; look at MSAR and you'll see that for individual schools (which is what you really need to look at), you'll see that a 3.55 is well > the 10th and even the 25th %iles for MD schools.
