My Personal Statement gets TRUNCATED. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what's the deal with it truncating at 5198 characters? I have exactly 5300 chars. and it took me eternity to cut it down to that number. I can't possibly cut anythign else out. How did you all fix this problem????

I don't have a solution... I can only tell you that the same thing happened to me. It cut mine off at 5282. No clue why, and I didn't think it was worth the effort of trying to call them. So I sucked it up and just CUT CUT CUT. Apparently AMCAS didn't think I was worthy of the other 18 characters granted to the rest of the applicant pool...

Sometimes when I cut and paste the whole thing, AMCAS did funky things, so I ended up cutting and pasting in parts. You might want to try the first 5100 or so characters and see if AMCAS will let you type in the rest.

hey tweetie,

same thing happened to me. I eventually had to type it all out. I had 5300 characters..it goes over because of code from different word processing programs. I made sure it was all in there cos I printed out the AMCAS before submitting.
