Hello Everyone,

It's that time for the year again. I thought I would start a thread for the 2016 pharmacy class. Let's share our best study techniques, comments, and concerns.

This is how I studied (posted in another thread): I glanced over the ebay pharmacy charts as an introduction then I would study from the rxprep and then finally back to the pharmacy charts as a recap. I also did questions from rxprep and lange to review the concepts. Don't try to memorize everything! Try to understand the concepts and quiz your friends to reinforce the concepts. I think rxprep has a FB page for people looking for study partners.

ebay pharmacy charts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Edition-Pharmacy-Charts-NAPLEX-CPJE-/261152172663

rxprep: http://www.amazon.com/RxPrep-Course...ie=UTF8&qid=1401474728&sr=8-2&keywords=naplex

lange: http://www.amazon.com/Lange-amp-Pha...e=UTF8&qid=1401474768&sr=8-28&keywords=naplex

I also did the SDN 120 calculation problems. They were a great help and all you need for math. You must do well on the calculation:

PM me if you got questions.

I'm graduating from Florida but going to Cali for a residency. No I haven't. Would that one be good for CPJE as well?

Does anyone have any advice on which topics to focus on? I'm taking end of april!

Focus on the big topics but know the basic for the small topics like chemo. A lot of the CPJE questions are the same questions you get from patients.

Hi! I just passed Naplex a few months ago and barely got my passing results for CPJE. I was so relieved, I cried. I would like to share my journey, which was quite a long and depressing one, but I passed both exams and didn't have to resort to taking the new version of the exams or CE courses! I would say the RX prep book is what most people have, but many people felt that after reading chapter 60, you forget everything from chapter 15. It's so hard to read and retain everything, which is why questions or charts or supplemental things are good for testing yourself. If you did great in school, then you shouldn't be too worried. I was a mediocre student, low 3.0 range. I feel the Naplex is so random and unfair, but has a lot of long patient charts that you have to filter through and be able to pull out relevant information to help you answer your question. They make it long with too much information to throw you off and make you have testing fatigue. Naplex has a higher margin for error, and it was very general and random, but you MUST KNOW MATH and equations!

I studied from the old competency statements and new as well for Naplex and CPJE. I bought the latest version of the book, but did not have a chance to go through it, but did work closely with the RX Prep team with the online course. With not enough time, I just did the online course with questions and videos and reviewed my old notes from my older version of the book (from the first round of testing). Since I did fail before, so had to go all out this time! It was really embarassing because EVERYONE passes right. There is a higher chance of failing CPJE since it is so clinical, and the reason most people fail Naplex would be due to not passing math (which is basic math, but you must do it fast and not make errors. Fail the math portion, fail the exam, they say. ) So, I used SDN 120 questions and proton pass flashcards for math. (THESE ARE AMAZING for those who need to review the basic math or if you just want to make sure you pass math on CPJE too. I hear the new version of CPJE has more calculations.) The new RX Prep 2016 book is a must and the bare minimum.

Other things I used for Naplex/CPJE: *for naplex: RX Prep course and book, Proton Pass math flashcards, Kaplan book that has 2 online practice tests, SDN120, took the pre-naplex too
*for RX Prep CPJE online course with videos and test banks, Ebay Pharmacy Charts, Kaplan supplemental book, Blue Weismann law book, practice questions... etc..

*****I have a BRAND NEW un-touched RX Prep 2016 book in original packaging for sale if interested. It retails for 163.48 about,, but I am selling for $150 if interested. I also am selling the Proton Pass Like-new flashcards including original packaging and all in order. (no new edition is out yet, but current retail price is 156 about including shipping, I am selling for 105 + any shipping fees. I also am selling the Kaplan book like -new. You still can access 2 practice exams online with it. If any of you want to buy all 3 in bulk, there can be a discount! Please let me know if you are interested or have any additional questions about anything. ******

Thank you for sharing your journey and congratulations on passing!!

for the CPJE.. would you say the Rx Prep CPJE was helpful and worth it's cost? Would you say the Blue Wesimann law book is as well?

Some people just use rx prep because the CPJE is super clinical. U still gotta know ur law well because there's not a lot.

The blue book is too much to read. I felt it wasn't helpful and even the questions were not even like the real thing. I had it but didn't even focus on it. Rx prep is better. The course is worth it if u fail. Lol. I bought it after I failed.
And I rereviewed the Naplex material.

Some people don't buy either and still can pass.

But CPJE just changed formats. So I would buy it if I were you!!!

I agree with this. Either you know it or you don't. Questions you would get from patients

Do you feel like the charts helped you out a lot or do you think Rxprep is sufficient? I'm taking the exam next week so I don't know if it would provide any benefit except for a concise review on less important topics; but I've been contemplating on whether or not to get them for a while. Did you think it was worth it?

I totally agree, it's Impossible to memorize everything. Reading with comprehension, as you've explained learning the concept is the best way to pass Naplex. I've passed with high score too, but in my case I've used Pass Naplex Now reviewers. It's straight to the points, easier to read. No need for months to review. Only took me weeks to finished it.

i remember 90-95% of the exam is clinical. the law questions were pretty straight forward. You shouldn't miss those.

I agree. Law questions are a breeze. You shouldn't miss those. You should get the weissman's community pharmacy book.

Hi guys,

I'm a foreign graduate pharmacist. I would greatly appreciate if you could tell me what should I study for Wisconsin MPJE and normally, how long does it take for people to get prepared for MPJE.

Check out pharmacyexam.com

Does Rxprep CPJE have the top 300 drugs in the course material? I'm on the fence of picking that versus pharmacy charts
