Hello, I was wondering if there are any students or doctors from this University that could give me their opinion about this university, curriculum (If it is truly competitive and efficient), and job outlook.

I am soon going to apply for August '13 and I think this University might be a good choice since it is accredited (I plan on working in the US), I know Spanish very well, and it is not as expensive as the ones from the US (meaning I can actually afford it and won't have to drown in student loans, that really scares me).

Hello,

I recently found out about UNAM's program as well. I have sent an email to their program coordinator for more information. I am looking to apply for 2013. Do you know when the deadline is? I do know someone who did go there and is actually in a neuro residency in the US and is doing very well for himself. Thanks!

Hi I just took the test last month. It is all in spanish. You have to study all the science in spanish, bio, ochem, physics, calculus ect. You get 120 questions in 3 hours. The best way to do is sign up for the convocatioria, if you live abroad Mexico make sure you click that option, other wise you get a date for picture and finger printing in Mexico. Otherwise you can take those at the end of the test. If you want to email me so I can tell you the rest I can guide you as to what you need to do. The documents you need to take from the US. I have direct contacts with all the people I dealt with in Mexico. So I can share them. If you are really interested in taking the test in June 2013. You must get this book.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/9702615690/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It covers everything you need to know for the exam, do the tests at the end of the chapter and start memorizing every formula you did for your bachelors of science in the US, as they all come up again but in spanish.

I got accepted in the US this year but I am really thinking about going to Mexico city, due the cost of education in America is 240K. UNAM is AVMA certified, I went to UNAM myself and looked at the classrooms, the labs, there is no difference to some of the labs I used at CSUN and UCLA. The great thing for me is that I can be a bilingual doctor and will be able to speak intelligently to those paying clients that speak Spanish as their only language.

I hope this helps you, but start studying soon as they time arrives and you have to take that test. Good luck.

This is the link where you need to reserve your spot for the test.

Look at the reply I sent to capirina. I just went to Mexico and took the test for UNAM.

You should still take the test the convocatoria starts up again in April 14 for the June test. The test itself is not the easiest as you have to score 85 or greater. But the price compared to Ross who is 240k is very small I think 2 k per year plus your living expenses. I am going to try the June convocatoria even though I got accepted to vet school as well. The idea of having minimal student loans is important to me. You will need this book asap http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/970...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good luck.

When do you start Ross in the fall 2013?

Here are the stats for this years people who got in.

Here are the dates for the next exam,

The only thing that gets tricky is your paperwork for your elememtary, junior high and high school grades. They all have to be translated to spanish and it can only be done in Mexico by legal translatos called peritos, they charge $20 per page. Do you have family in Mexico that can help you? If not you can hire people to help you do so.

Is it the same time dental students take the exam and is it the same exam

Does anyone have any updates on getting in at UNAM? I am a second career applicant, working on my chems and bios right now. I am a native Spanish speaker and I am very interested in applying at UNAM next year.

I've spoken to friends who are from Mexico City. They told me it's the best school to go to in Mexico, the area is not as dangerous as everyone in the news makes it seem (all the trouble is in the border towns) and that Mexico City is a fun place to live.

I've downloaded a few guides online for the exam.

Anything helps!

Hi!
Would anyone that is in the process of applying or has already applied to UNAM have information on the whole process? I am trying to do some research since this is the school of my choice, but it's all very ambiguous.
Thank you!

Thank you so much!

Hello, I am interested in going to UNAM. What would you recommend to study for the entrance exam? What are the required documents? Thank you in advance.
