Anyone get a letter from this organization???? It looks like it could be another one of those money grubbing 'societies' where they print your biography and you can chose to buy an expensive book to see it. Just curious if anyone's heard of this........at least you are still eligible for a scholarship even if you don't buy anything.

    Hey Felipe5,

I actually got one of those letters in the mail at the beginning of April..I wanted to send in my info. by the Apr.28th deadline, but I was so skeptical of it..In the end, I sent nothing in.

Does anyone know if it's legitimate?

Its not really a scam, they just want you to by their book. I dont think it is prestigious, and have kept it off my resume. It cant hurt to send in the paper, but i think its just another money making organisation.

I agree with athomeonarock. I've gotten the National Dean's list stuff a couple times, and I've sent in the biographical stuff. I don't buy the book, so it doesn't cost anything. I do put it on my resume, but when the time comes to pare down the honors from this era of my life, it definitely won't make the cut.

To be honest, I dont think NDL is anything to brag about. The adcoms are well aware of what your GPA is and don't need to see some "checkbook credentials" on your resume to prove it.

    Save your time and cash.

golden key, phi beta kappa, tau beta pi, and national society of collegiate scholars are the only "real" honor societies worth getting into.
