National Guard to Active Duty Residency

With all negativity aside, is it possible for a National Guard medical student to match into an Active Duty Residency? If so, how would one go about changing components?

Contact an AMEDD recruiter, they will have you fill out a DD368. It is then up to the guard unit as to whether or not they release you to another component or service.
