Hey. I am applying to med school for 2002. I am very interested in doing primary care (either IM of family med) in an underserved rural area. I have heard that there are special scholarship/loan programs for people with this type of motivation (NHSC etc.) Anyone know anything about this? Wheat are your experiences? Where can I find more info?

Search the forum.... you'll get some of your questions answered..... Good luck....

Click on "Search" on the top right of your screen.
Then type in "NHSC" on the designated search
Then choose "Everyone" as the forum.... You'll get more info than I can post....

But if you still can't find any info, let me know and I'll post up some contacts....

You probably already found this website, but if not try: http://www.bphc.hrsa.gov/nhsc

It is the National Health Service Corps website. Good luck!
