An earlier post had a link to the recent FS/UMO/PGY2+ boards, and I noticed that a small but significant number of FS applicants were put down as alternates. How does the board decide who goes to Pensacola and who doesn't among an intern class? Is it more of the same (grades, boards)? Is there anything you can do as an MSIV or intern to improve your chances?
