Can't give you a firsthand answer as I'm not slated to go until September of this year, however pretty much all the people I've talked to (N=roughly 15) who have gone through NAMI in the past 2-3 years have said API can be a lot of death-by-powerpoint but we'll have far more free time than we've grown accustomed to as interns, and life in Pensacola is relaxed and generally enjoyable.
