Navy LCDR selection board 2013

While promotion to LCDR is historically 100%, I'm hearing we're in for a shock this year at around 50%. This is also the case for the Navy Reserves. Has anyone heard anything similar?

While promotion to LCDR is historically 100%, I'm hearing we're in for a shock this year at around 50%. This is also the case for the Navy Reserves. Has anyone heard anything similar?

I would dismiss it as crazy talk. MC promotion will still be 100%. Don't know anything about Dental Corps. It may be that Navy-wide, including the line, O4 selection rate will be 50%. O4 on the line side is a big deal and has never been near 100%. On the medical side, it's automatic.

Per the FY-14 LCDR (staff) selection board Convening Order the In-Zone selection rate for MC will be 100%.

DC - 100%
MSC, NC, JAG, CEC - 80%
SC, Chaplains - 70%

It goes down to 50% for Limited Duty Officer (Staff)
