NBDE a must for Canadian DDS to apply to US residency?

Hey guys, just a quick question:

As a Canadian DDS graduate - if I want to apply to US specialty programs, I am required to take the NDBE I/II, right? Do all specialty programs require the taking of this test?

Depending on the specialty you're applying to, there is few programs that don't require them, but most do need Part I to apply, and then some will require that you pass part II, once you're accepted into their program. I have only done part I so far. If you don't want to limit your options, you pretty much have to write part I.
