To be licensed in most states, you must have passed both NBDE I,II and whatever state/regional board clinical exam is required. With a new exam, your old score is replaced.
If a licensed/practicing general dentist wanted to retake their NBDE I in order to be competitive for an Ortho Residency, what problems could they encounter with their licensure if they were to fail the retake of the NBDE I?
