Could someone help me with this question?

Which of the following characterizes both active transport and facilitated diffusion?
a. hydrolysis of ATP
b. competive inhibition
c. transport bidirectional
d. transport against a concentration gradient

I know it's not a and c. if you think it's b, could you please explain why?
Thank you.

b

It's not d coz facilitated diffusion is downhill.
Both of them are carrier-mediated transport.characteristics of carrier-mediated transport are stereospecificity, saturation & competition.

its b cause both requires a transport protein....so in a competitive inhibition, the protein may be bound by an inhibitor thus making the transport impossible....
