NBME Subject exams vs Step1?

Hi everyone,

I looked at some old posts but was hoping for some more recent feedback. I recently took the NBME Path exam (yesterday) and the Micro one the previous week. I thought they were super hard.

But I find UWorld and the other question banks to be much more 'fair' ?

Before I thought I FA/Uworld/Pathoma would be enough. I now think I have to go back to RR

My question basically: is step1 more like shelfs or more like Uworld?

From what I've heard, the subject exams are more detailed and more focused (read: harder) on whatever subject it's testing compared to the Step 1.

So, Subjects NBMEs do not aid board prep and neither are they indicative of step 1 scores? Am obviously asking this out of sheer ignorance!
