Okay, I am kinda confused about these three seemingly different things for Step I:

    1. NBME self-assessment
    2. usmle.org software download
    3. practice session at Prometric

Initially I'd thought they were all the same thing. Are they? Or are they all different? If they're different, what's more worth it, 1 or 3?

    Hi
Check out my recent post under confessions of a step 1 tester
As for the prometric test...I would recommend taking 1 and 2..there's no need for 3.

how accurate/inaccurate is the step 1 practice session test available at the prometric center for $48 on predicting the step1 score?

i'm scheduled to take my test in october and thought i should be familiar with my surroundings so i am taking a practice session test there.

just trying to gage WHEN i should take the practice test (2 days or 2 weeks) & if it will be disheartening or a boost of confidence right before the exam?

    please help!
