Hey,
I've got a quick question to all the past and present applicants.
I don't know how honors programs are run at other schools, but at mine honors students have to take a special english comp class. I know med school require two semesters (6 hours) of english as pre-reqs, but what if your undergrad squeezes two semesters together into one for honors students? I got 3 credit hours out of it, but they count those three as being good enough to graduate. Usually it takes 6 hours of english comp to graduate at my school.

will adcoms be cool with this? Anybody with any experiences please tell me what you think. It would suck pretty bad if I applied and then found out that my app wasn't even going to be considered b/c of this.

It is usually on a credit hour basis, so you would need 6 hours of English. I know that sux. I took O-chem at Texas A&M and we only received one hour credits for our labs, but the UT system gives 2 hour credits. So they only had to take the first o-chem Lab (which is complete cheese) and us Aggies had to take two crack your balls semesters of o-chem lab.

My best suggestion to you is to go and talk to admissions or present your case to your honors advisor to see if they can award you 3 hours. Then they really have to make a case to you that it is 2 semesters work in one.

Good luck
