Need help with telling first choice school I am choosing them

Hello guys. I didn't know what to make the title without making it really long. My question is: How am I supposed to tell a school that I have chosen them to go to over other acceptances? Do I simply withdraw from the other schools, or do I have to inform the top choice school itself of my decision? Basically, this is in relation to that May 1st/15th deadline.

Just email the admissions office and say you are definitely coming and ask if there's anything else you need to do. My school had me fill out a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) through the online application portal.
