Pearson has a calculator for it online, and I always use that.

Date tested subtract DOB.
11 minus 18 days, (borrow 30 days because it is not enough) 41-18= 23 days
4 (losing 1 month from borrowing) minus 9 months, (borrow 12 months because it is not enough) 16-9 = 7 months
2017 (losing 1 year from borrowing) minus 2009, 17-9= 8 years.

Answer: 8 years, 7 months, 23 days.
Check Beery VMI manual to specifically round up or not round at all.
