One year. It seems like such a short period of time, but I am struggling trying to figure out what to do for that one year. At first I was just going to work, but now that doesn't seem like a good idea. Then I was going back to school, but finding a program that fits me best is proving to be impossible. I just wanted to know what others have done during the year of the application to medical school. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

  3. Hi ComplexPuzzle,

One great option for you (especially since you're already in the D.C. area) would be the NIH's post-baccalaureate IRTA fellowship. It's a research program designed specifically for students taking off a year between undergrad and applying to medical or graduate school. This is how I have been spending the past year.

Here's a link that should work:

If you're interested, feel free to ask me any questions. Good luck!
