i am going to be a sophmore in the fall and i am planning on waiting after i graduate college to apply to medical schools, and not apply the traditional way which is in junior year. How will adcoms look at this?

There's nothing wrong with your approach. Just make sure you have something to do while you're applying and out of school. Some secondary applications will ask what you're doing if you're not in school.
