Hi
I am an english medical graduate and will be applying through the match for renal fellowships starting 2012. I was wondering reputationally what are the top (10?) academic nephrology programs? I have obviously looked at the usnwr rankings and various institutional websites but as a foreigner it is difficult to get a real sense of program quality. I would really appreciate some opinions

thanks

I am applying to Renal this year. Was wondering from current housestaff/fellows/attendings/others what are some strong Renal programs. Can any of you give any insight into your Renal program and how the fellows are treated/educated/competent?

something is really going wrong!!
its too early for that many rejections!!

very unusual for you with MD/PHD....

No rejection at this time yet, but I am sure it is on the way, just a matter of time.

actually im a medicine resident..im not MD/PhD
I need to correct that!

i agree its very unusual.
i wonder if its because i have no inside people that can help me getting an interview..

i have no idea whats going on!

I don't think insiders will help too much at this stage as it is just screening phase. I will look into other issues on the ERAS application as it is all they see at this time.

my 2nd iv.
from CT

i feel they are kind of slow with interviews.
is this how it is ?

To introduce myself, i'm IMG, step 1,2 in upper 90s, step 3 in upper 80s.. no published research, few acp posters

applied to 45progs

1IV from boston (BU)

IMG,
both scores late 80's
2 IV,
U of Virginia and Louisville, KY

Does anybody know anything about these two programs?

pgyIII/Chief

Hi, everyone, thanks for making this forum alive again...
I just put all the information about IVs we got so far in alphabetic order(ID). Hopefully it is helpful for us, also for the applicants next year.

Please edit on this list once you get a new IV, also revise the ones you got to be more specific. For example, write UCLA instead of CA program.

Also, please share your credentials if you haven't done yet.

Here is mine: FMG, green card, no research bg, a few posters, scores in high 90s

Good luck to all of us! Be patient!

Is there only 10 people apply nephrology this year? Please participate and post if you are looking at this thread!!!

I did not apply maine, otherwise I will definitely get a big NO NO from Maine. I just do not understand :confused:why Kidneys got this rejection. Kidneys proved himself a strong candidate by getting IVs from quite a few excellent programs.
