NERB or WREB for OMFS residency?

question - does it matter which you take for residency? I'm in a NERB state but many of the OMFS programs i'm applying to are WREB states. Should I match at a WREB state, would i need to take the WREB to (a) continue residency there or (b) practice there after residency? I REALLY don't want to take both if I can help it.

I'm applying to 6-yr programs so if all goes to plan i will also have a medical license... not sure if that makes any difference.
