Just got a call back from Neumann university DPT for class of 2018!!!! My first choice! I am a licensed PTA and have been practicing for 5 years now. I am ready for this journey and just want to encourage those waiting from any school that if you want admissions wok hard. Retake what you need to take to get a better grade and pray hard. At least I believe my prayers did it for me and the Lord heard and answered my prayers. I would love to connect with those who have been accepted to Neumann and also willing to provide fellow PTAs going DPT, advice those going PTA, or simply provide any information I have about the process. I will be posting a link to a blog about my journey because I could not find any information relating to PTAs who transitioned to DPT. I wish you all well as you wait on decisions

Hey there! I heard from Neumann yesterday as well! Congrats on your acceptance! I'm very excited and SO relieved to have one. A friend of mine has also been accepted to Neumann and she works as a PTA.

By the way, what day did you interview?

Congrats!!!! Yay we need to link up. I interviewed on Jan 6, 2015. How about you? I would love to connect soon!

Awesome, I interviewed the same day so we've already "seen" each other. Everyone was so nervous and not very talkative that day 🙂

I'm so excited to be a member of the DPT Class of 2018!

Hey guys I got in as well but still not sure if I will accept! Do most of you have jobs and need the weekend program to get through it?

For me, the appeal is being able to keep my current part time job and cover my living expenses rather than having to borrow additional money. Also, Neumann's program is slightly more affordable than the other programs I'm waiting to hear from.

I also like that the weekend format means you can keep volunteering in a PT setting, especially since my day job isn't related to PT.

Understood and makes sense, thank you! Have you heard positively from other programs yet? I've gotten accepted at one other school in PA (Alvernia) however it is not accredited. Just trying to go through the pros and cons of each program.

I applied to 4 programs. I got a rejection from Drexel, and I'm still waiting to hear from Widener and Lebanon Valley College. LVC only has a few seats every year to fill based on students that flunk out of the 3x3 program so although they were my original top choice going into the program because the program is close by, I'm not going to hear from them until the end of the month.

I looked at Alvernia, and I took a tour there last summer. Because they aren't accredited yet, the pre-reqs have to be done at a 4 year. I chose not to apply there because of that but I really liked the feel I got for the program, and was disappointed that applying there wasn't an option for me. So congrats on your acceptance there!

Ah I gotcha. Congrats to you about Neumann! I am visiting Alvernia this coming Wednesday which will help me better decide which of the two I am going to go with. Thanks for your info about Alvernia, much appreciated. Good luck to you!

Loved Alvernia and I think I am going to go there. Good luck to you all at Neumann!! We will all be PT's in the end 🙂

It's great reading this post in 2017! I'm wondering who ended up going to Neumann in the end and how is the program so far? I'm looking into the school as I write this and I haven't heard of any other DPT programs with a weekend program so this is very interesting to me. Looking to hearing anything about the program!

Hi there, I happened to see your reply on this thread and I was one of the original posters who wound up going to Neumann. It feels good to be a 3rd year! My class is preparing to finish up classes this fall and head out for our last 2 affils in the spring.

Do you have any specific questions about the program? In general, I've gone through the program working 30 hours a week. It's pretty intense to balance work and school, but it is doable. It's a very good program, our 1st time NPTE pass rate has ranged in the mid to high 90's the past few years and our graduates have a good reputation. I'm a non-trad student, but a higher number of traditional students are going through the program now. My class ranges in age from 23-33, but ages and experience varies from class to class. If you have any other specific questions, feel free to send me a message.
