What're you using them for?


I used BRS neuro for class, but had to annotate it a bunch. For boards, I really liked HY neuro.

I used the Lange book "Clinical Neuroanatomy". It has good pics of the tracts and the text is easy to follow. It also has sample patients and cases that allow you to integrate the information.

We used Neuroanatomy and the Human Brain and I bought the BRS book and did extremely well in Neuro. I like HY for board study though.

HY Neuro got me at least 5-10 extra points on the USMLE and even more on the COMLEX. It's an awesome book, very manageable (can read it in 2 days), and the first few chapters are extremely high yield for boards. Definitely not sufficient for your neuro course, but is required reading for boards.
