I suppose it does separate the "men from the boys" so to speak. Mayo certainly does whip out the big guns on their phone interview.

Haha, thanks. I like those too. Although this strip is really a setup for the next one to some extent:p

When I thought up of the one I'm making right now (I'll put it up over the weekend), I giggled to myself all the way home.

LOL, "Question #1: what's the meaning of life?"

keep up the good work. You're really talented.

I made a mini-comic book last week for a biolab project. Took a while, but having a character simulator helped a lot.

    Keep em coming :)

 I remember the phone interview. To top it off it was 6am, and I had literally woken to the call. I have no idea what I said, but I am fairly sure I said the word "essentially" an inordinate amount of times.

Haha, try doing the phone interview from a satellite phone after you spent the last 3 nights in a tent while on a volunteer trip in a 3rd world country :) on the plus side it was morning there and late afternoon where I was, so at least it didn't wake me up.

That's funny. I am so glad that I got rejected so that I didn't have to go through that awful phone interview. At least, that's what I tell myself at night...

    Thanks!

A mini-comic book for a biolab project? That sounds like a fun project. I never get assigned anything fun:p What's a "character simulator?"

    Hehe..."What's the meaning of life?"

Wouldn't it be fun to answer "I don't know...do you?"

Actually mine woke me up too:p I had mis-entered the time due to some confusion with central/pacific:p

When she got me on the line, I asked her to give me a moment to "fix my phone volume" and instead I ran to the bathroom and splashed scope in my mouth so I wouldn't feel nasty the whole time:p

Wow, I didn't applly to Mayo. Is that the real format of the phone interview, or is it exaggerated? Because that's hilarious.

Well, they never quite asked "what's the meaning of life" but the phone interview is of that format, and they do ask rather deep questions.

I havd a very lax interviewer, the dean of admissions no less, and he was asking me about my culture and arranged marriages.. And i told him how it was more of an intro basis when ur a "certain age" and did some impersonations of my parents, that really really made him laugh, and afterwards he told me that at first he thought i was some shy reserved girl but he could see that i was spirited... I think that sealed the deal for me :D ... I'm sure some adcom's have a sense of humor.. Maybe not if you tell them the meaning of life is 42, but im sure in some context they do :)

well, they're cute. not funny, but cute.

After I read them, I'm usually like: "is there more? Have we reached the punch line already?"

Well, it's a derivation of a particular style. If you read Dilbert, or even Cyanide & Happiness (a generalized version), you'll notice the similarities.

Some people find them hilarious, some find them mildly amusing, and some just find them "cute."

Other people just don't get them at all:p

But, whatever your style of humor is, there's always other comic strips/humor-zines out there to satiate it.
