Just wondering if anyone knows what is coming out when?? I need to spend my textbook allowance this year on something, but don't really want to spend it on something with a new edition that is going to come out in a year. I start core derm in summer 2012 (in Canada we do 2 years of IM-type rotations before core derm)

Of all the "core" books, which one(s) would be more tolerable if I had an old edition?

Feel free to fill in the blanks with anticipated upcoming publication dates you know below (or add books to the list)

Thanks muchly.

Core:
Bolognia
Fitz
Andrews - Jan 2011
Rook

Path:
Weedon
Lever
Rapini

Contact derm:
Marks/DeLeo

Genodermatoses:
Spitz

Drugs:
Wolverton

Weedon (2010): Hot off the press! From the preface, "...this is likely to be the last edition of this book by the current author...". I surely hope not. This book is THE hots! Sometimes I forget I am even reading a pathology book.

Rook (2010): Still hot off the press...

Wolverton (2007): Pretty confident a new edition is in the works. 😉

I have the black copy of Fitz Dermatology in General Medicine (2003). I like it. Nabbed it off ebay for around $100.

I NEVER forget i'm reading a pathology book. its pretty much torture. I'm a lumper, so i don't care that Ackerman has 57 subtypes of benign this or that's.

New edition of Andrews is already on pre-order. Its my favorite text hands down.
